BROMONT, QC – Hoping to promote the Québec’s life sciences industry abroad, BIOQuébec has entered into two new partnerships with Biron Health Group and Switzerland’s Health Valley.

As part of its deal with Biron Health Group, information culled from the Innovation in Québec, it’s in our DNA! life sciences public awareness campaign will be presented at various Biron and Imagix points of service as well as on the company’s social media networks. BIOQuébec says that over the next year, nearly 200 000 people will be made aware of the important role played by innovative companies in Québec through this initiative.

“This partnership offers great added value not only to this campaign, but to all BIOQuébec members as well as to the life sciences industry, which can now count on a new business partner,” says Anie Perrault, BIOQuébec’s executive manager. “Biron offers its services and expertise on a sub-contractual basis, which enhances Québec’s innovation chain.”

“This partnership will serve to reinforce the current spirit of cooperation between Biron and the companies involved in life sciences in Québec, while helping the whole industry to benefit from the visibility provided by a company like ours, which is already well-known by the public and firmly established across the entire province,” adds Louis-Jacques Darveau, vice-president of marketing, communications, and customer experience for the Biron Health Group.

Additionally, thanks to its trade mission to Switzerland in January, BIOQuébec formalized a new partnership with Health Valley.

According to BIOQuébec, the two sides will work together to facilitate business ties between respective members of each organization, while supporting biotechs and contract research firms in both Québec and Switzerland seeking to expand  development activities in both of these two territories.

“The reach of Québec’s biotechnology and life sciences organizations – more than 135 biotechs and 71 CROs – extends far beyond Québec’s borders, as we have seen through the expansion of our relations with MassBio in Massachusetts and now with Switzerland’s Health Valley”, states Martin Godbout, BIOQuébec’s president. “The quality of the research done in Québec is acknowledged around the world, and we are pleased that we can now work closely with an organization as important as Health Valley to facilitate business ties between our members and a country such as Switzerland, which is a key player in the global development of life sciences.”

Over the mid/long-term, the agreement will assist Swiss companies looking to invest in Québec or help Québec companies obtain financing from Swiss businesses, which would allow for the researching and marketing of new drugs, treatments, and preventive or diagnostic tools to be done here in Québec.
